Social & Support
Social outings are held on the third Sunday of each month at different West Island locations. These are informal, bilingual pay-your-own-way get-togethers at a restaurant or park setting.
Time: 12 pm
Contact the office for location and date and to confirm your attendance.
Workplace and Community Outreach: On-site interactive presentations and information kiosks to educate on arthritis with tips on exercise, nutrition and arthritis management. Possibility of special lecture, lunch-and-learn, exercise and Wellness Fair options.

A series of 5 weekly interactive & informal information sessions where participants are encouraged to share their day-to-day experience, coping skills and ideas.
A comprehensive course for arthritics or related condition (i.e. chronic pain) learning to manage their pain by understanding it and developing strategies to live a better fruitful life.
1. The nitty-gritty of arthritis.
2. Nutrition – Creating the right habits.
3. Exploring your options – Relaxation, massage, posturology, therapies, etc.
4. Movement matters!
5. Staying engaged – Critical to your overall well-being.

Celebrating Families 2025: A Big Day Out for the Whole Community!
Pierrefonds-Roxboro, May 2025 — The Table de Quartier du Nord de l’Ouest-de-l’Île de Montréal (TQNOIM) is thrilled to announce the 14th edition of the Celebrating Families event, taking place on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at À-Ma-Baie Park (Gouin Blvd., across from Sunnybrooke train station).
This free, family-friendly event brings together local organizations and residents for an afternoon of fun, food, and community spirit. Attendees can enjoy a BBQ, bouncy castles, face painting, entertainment, and more!
Thanks to the support of key partners such as the Borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro, and Desjardins, this year’s celebration will be bigger than ever, with a record number of local organizations joining the festivities to share resources, services, and joy with families across the West Island.

Our annual fundraising event will take place Saturday, May 10th, 2025 from 1pm to 7pm at the Kirkland Sports Complex (16950 Hymus blvd.). The ball hockey tournament will begin at 3:30pm. Come meet our ambassadors! Help us break the stigma by talking, eating, and laughing together. If you’d like, you can join one of the ball hockey teams or be a cheerleader for our PCSM team, they’ve been training all year for this!

2025 is a very special year for the Carrefour des Aînés which celebrates 30 years of volunteer service for the well-being of the seniors.
In addition to this anniversary, the Carrefour is organizing a Salon dedicated to informing seniors on various topics on physical and mental health as well as the many community resources available to them.
This Salon is open to all with free entry and gives the opportunity to meet 25 representatives from various organizations who wish to provide on a volunteer basis the resources geared for a better living.
This special event gives you the opportunity to talk to the professionals in those sectors as well as meeting the representatives in leisure, theater and general culture.

Many people mistakenly think arthritis is just a disease of the elderly, but the statistics tell a different story. About three in 1,000 Canadian children have juvenile arthritis (JA), which makes it more common than most chronic childhood diseases.

Arthritis is a collection of chronic diseases that impact your joints and other connective tissues. These conditions are most commonly characterized by swelling, joint pain, and stiffness. There are more than 100 conditions under the arthritis umbrella, but the most common forms are osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

– If AWISH is no longer able to offer the service: a) full credit prior to start date OR b) reimbursement of remaining sessions (or amount credited towards a future seasonal session)
– If you become ill and can no longer attend, please contact the office. A $10 administrative fee may apply.

– You have a service or skill you’d like to offer (ex: lead the Caring & Sharing Support Group; run a Chair Yoga Exercise Class; etcetera)
– You would like a private presentation of information by AWISH (ex: senior homes, companies, etcetera)
– You would like to invite AWISH to have an information booth at a public event/setting
– You have any questions or concerns.
